Delta Govt Clears Air On Releasing New Academic Calendar For Schools

The Delta State’s Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Training has disclosed that it hasn’t launched a new academic calendar for the 2020/21 session.

Mr Patrick Ukah, the Commissioner, made the clarification in a press release in Asaba on Friday.

Ukah urged dad and mom and guardians to ignore the 2020/21 academic calendar circulating on social media, reportedly emanating from the ministry.

In keeping with him, the ministry had not taken a call on the 2020-21 academic calendar.

He mentioned: “The resumption was preparatory to the Fundamental Training Certificates Examination (BECE) organised by the Ministry of Fundamental and Secondary Training scheduled to start on Monday, September 21, 2020.

“I questioned why mischief-makers would sit down and concoct false info that might mislead unsuspecting dad and mom and guardians.

“As soon as a ultimate resolution is taken on the matter, an official assertion from the ministry could be made public.”
